Child Abuse or Latest Fashion???

When I first saw this, I couldn't help but laugh hard. I just found it plain hilarious that a cute lil baby like this one will have the title "boob man". Having come to think about it more, as much as it's funny, can it be another form of child abuse??? It seems to be the latest fashion now that kidswear are designed with a sexual theme and there is money to be made out of this, but is it ethical?

Have your say...

It's scary how childrens fashion have become, they are like small adults and thats wrong! They should be children, when they are children...

But this t-shirt I think was ment in that way, that he is drinking breast-milk and that's why he is a boob man. If it's an okay way to dress him, thats a different matter...

Hope your evening is nice and warm ;)

My evening was nice and warm and I hope yours was too :).

I thought about it that way, that this shirt means drinking breast milk but yet, you still see older kids (3 years or so) wearing similar ones. I've seen some horrible ones, I just wonder what their parents' were thinking.

The thing is, when you dress your kids this way, what kind of message are you sending out as a parent?

I agree with you Khalid! I see children here in Norway, small girls (5-10 years old) - with t-shirts saying: "kiss me", "sexy babe" and so on.. It makes me sooo angry! They are children, they have no idea what kind of message that puts out when their walking down the street..

hmm!

Here the sun is trying to shine, but it's foggy ;)

really interesting post. i never quite thought about this and mainly sorta just laughed when i saw this t-shirt, but in thinking about it, i would have to somewhat agree that it isn't something that's good. i can't say that i agree that it's child abuse because it's only a baby and it's not like they can read it or anything, but... i do think it sends out a bad message and says a lot about the parents. to me, there's a certain type of person that puts t-shirts such as these on their baby. and like someone said, you have to have a license to drive a car but anyone can have a baby. i think testing should be done on ppl prior to having kids!

When I was first told about the tshirts by Khalid, I couldn't help but laugh. Until I saw the other one which was just plain disgusting. Some of these parents need to think before they buy these sort of tshirts ! :x

Stjernesol: I agree with you, this one was meant to show that the baby is breast fed. :)

MSB: I agree with you, it's abuse !

June: A very bad one, I don't get what's so clever about the whole thing.

these parents r not molesting their children..they r just craving for attention..plus i don't think they actually take this seriously..

still,it is sick that everything should have a sexual implication..ughh

Lorena: lol, this one is funny but still quite disturbing !

tooner: I agree, at first you find it funny; we all did; but when you start to think about it, you just can't help but think that this is plain wrong.

I will tell you what... I like sara to wear what she likes .. well some times.. but I like her with dress , some times with jeans.. but must of the time with a dress why ? coz now that she is growing she is the one is selecting what she will wear .. and the time for me to see her with what i like is going to be over soon .. but definelly I will never buy her a yogy Pants saying "sexy baby" in the butt or "Touch me" or so... Kids are kids and we have to let thme be a kids ...

Still breathing: Good point, I wouldn't think that clothing affect personality especially at a very young age. How the parents behave now that's what affect their personality.

Lorena: That's right ! Kids should always be kids, and that includes the way they're dressed. Parents should be very careful when it comes to choosing their kids clothing.

If I was one of these kids and I grow up and see some of these pics of me, am not goin to have a really good impression about my parents. Plus, you don't want a child to be sexually orientated at such a young age.

Stjernesol, it's still not foggy here, it'll be in a few months. The weather is getting better but it's still the usual, hot and humid (not for the last few days).

It's this whole Lolita syndrome which the media is pushing down our throats as "the new sexy". Can't be bothered writing out a lot here but will explain it someday on my blog.

I know where you're coming from June. Lolita Syndrome is basically pedophilia and that really twists things especially when this problem involves the parents themselves. One thing though, this definately encourages it. I'll think about it more, see if I can draw up more conclusions...

Come on June and K. Lolita Syndrome? pedophilia ? Isn't this just reading too much into it ? :P I am sure that the whole thing is not as sinister as you both think ! Yes it's bad, No I won't have my kids wearing such things (When I get 'em) but these tshirts glamorizing pedophilia ? I don't think so !

You never know Mo, I mean if you see a lil girl wearing "am dead sexy" or anything of similar nature, you never know what could happen.

Am sure that when the shirts were made, "encouraging pedophilia" wasn't the aim of course, but it could increase indirectly.

Ya I do agree, "boob man" is funny but I just feel for the kids that are wearing it.

The sexy lil girls underwear is sick, I actually didn't hear about it.
